Gili Kondo is an uninhabited island in Sambelia, East Lombok, distinct from the three popular Gili Islands on the west side: Trawangan, Meno and Air. Its appeal is its natural setting and coral reefs, with white sand and far fewer visitors.
Shallow, calm water makes Gili Kondo interesting for snorkeling and for enjoying an island environment that still feels natural.
Snorkeling is the main activity, with a number of spots featuring coral and colorful fish in shallow, calm water. The name “Kondo” is locally associated with a heron. Although uninhabited, simple cottages may be available for travelers who want to stay overnight and enjoy sunrise and sunset from the island.

Gili Kondo can be reached from Kayangan Harbor or Padak Guar, around 2.5–3 hours by road from Mataram, followed by a 15–20 minute boat ride. Because the route is relatively long, Lombok car rental is a practical and comfortable option. Facilities on the island are limited to a small food stall, so bringing supplies from mainland Lombok is recommended.
